Upgradex Computer Guide
The Computer is an interactive feature in Upgradex unlocked after purchasing the #3RB (Tinkering) upgrade on the Research Baseplate. It hosts several sub-applications including a Read Me text file, Arithmetism (a math number-analyzer), Baldi Basics v2 (an educational mini-game), and the Incremental Clicker—a mini-game that holds the secret to obtaining the Perfect Key. This guide covers every application, settings, and the path to the Perfect Key within the Incremental Clicker.
How to Unlock the Computer
The Computer unlocks after purchasing #3RB, labeled "Tinkering," on the Research Baseplate. This places it within your upgrade tree as a mid-game feature. Once purchased, the Computer appears as an accessible node or button in your interface—typically on the right side of the Research Baseplate area.
The Computer persists across prestige resets, so you only need to unlock it once. After unlocking, access it by clicking or navigating to its location in the tree. The Computer launches a mini desktop environment with multiple applications you can open.
Read Me Application
Read Me is the default application that opens first when you launch the Computer. Its filename is intentionally crafted to encourage players to click it immediately—following the convention of real software readme files. When opened, it displays the message: "hey! my computer isn't done yet, can you come back later?"
The file behaves like a real text document: you can click into it, delete characters, and add new text. However, any changes are reverted when you close and reopen the window—the file always returns to its original state. Read Me is a flavor element rather than a functional part of the game.
Arithmetism Application
Arithmetism is a math application that analyzes natural numbers and categorizes them by their properties, assigning a score based on how many properties they satisfy. If a number is a combination of two other properties, those individual component properties do not display separately.
Supported properties include: Palindromic numbers (read the same forwards and backwards, 3 digits only), Strobogrammatic numbers (remain the same when flipped upside down, such as 69), Tetradic numbers (both palindromic and strobogrammatic, like 101), Two-faced numbers (have no matching digits with their reverse), and Constantly ascending numbers (digits that always increase left to right, like 123 or 246).
Baldi Basics v2 Application
Baldi Basics v2 (officially labeled "baldi basics thingy 2 DEMO") is an educational mini-game where players answer math questions within a countdown timer. You start with 10 seconds per question, which decreases after each correct answer. You have 3 lives—answering incorrectly or running out of time costs one life. Lose all 3 and you lose the game. A combo counter tracks consecutive correct answers and resets when you lose a life.
Easy mode covers: basic addition/subtraction (10s), counting polygons (15s), counting shape edges (20s), pattern recognition (15s), and word problems involving basic operations (10s) or basic operations with time (25s). Medium mode includes perfect square identification, exponent multiplication, and exponent division. Hard mode covers slope calculations and quadratic real-solution counts.
Incremental Clicker – Perfect Key Secret
The Incremental Clicker is a sub-application within the Computer where players can earn a special hidden item: the Perfect Key. Progress through the Incremental Clicker normally until you reach its final area. The key step is to continue walking to the right after reaching the apparent end of the Incremental Clicker—do not stop or turn back when you see the final area.
Keep moving right until you reach the rocks at the very edge of the map. A text prompt will appear, and the Perfect Key will be automatically added to your Roblox inventory. After obtaining the key, visit bdidk235's room for lore about the key and the Door. Currently in RELEASE 1.1, the Perfect Key is a collector's item with no functional use on the Door.
Computer Settings
The Computer includes a settings menu where you can customize its appearance. You can change the desktop background image between the default artwork or a plain black option, and you can change the taskbar color with 13 color choices: Black, Gray, White, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue, Purple, Pink, and Brown.
These settings are purely cosmetic and do not affect gameplay. They are cosmetic touches that reflect the playful design philosophy of the Paper Dimension and the team's attention to detail in flavor elements.
